Volunteer Services
The volunteers at Logan Regional Medical Center provide service and support to patients and their families, hospital staff, guests, medical staff, vendors, other volunteers and the community in general. Our volunteer staff strive to both compliment and supplement the goals and objectives of Logan Regional Medical Center by providing compassionate care as they assist in promoting customer satisfaction.
Hours of Service
Volunteers are available during the following hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am — 4:00 pm
The volunteer staff at Logan Regional Medical Center contribute to the hospital in the following positions:
Main Information Desk
Provide lobby assistance to guests; greet and make visitors feel welcome; provide information regarding location of hospital departments; transfer calls to patient rooms; deliver mail.
Mobile Information Desk
Assist guests in finding various departments of the hospital by escorting the guests to the appropriate place; greet hospital staff, medical staff, and guests as they approach the station; assist with Auxiliary clerical projects; prepare Auxiliary birthday cards for mailing.
Waiting Areas
Facilitate communication between patient family members and hospital/medical staff in waiting areas; act as greeter/hostess to patient and family members in waiting areas; communicate with patients/family members to ensure their needs are being met.
Floor Teams
Visit patients on 3rd, 4th and 5th floors, spend time talking with patients and offer to read to them; take magazine cart to patient room.
Gift Shop
Staffed and coordinated through the Logan Regional Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary, Inc. Many members also act as Auxiliary Volunteers. Oversight is provided by the Auxiliary Advisor.
